Duration: 4 hours (2:30β€―PM – 6:30β€―PM) Departure Point: Mkoko Explorers, Watamu Difficulty: Moderate (suitable for most fitness levels) Minimum Age: 13 years πŸ• 2:30 PM – Meet at Mkoko Explorers, Watamu Guests arrive at Mkoko Explorers for check-in. Welcome briefing and introductions. Bike fitting and helmet adjustment. Short safety and route briefing, including forest etiquette and wildlife awareness. 🚐 2:40 PM – Van Transfer to Arabuko Sokoke Gate Scenic 20-minute drive through coastal villages and countryside. Opportunity to enjoy the rural landscape and ask questions about local ecology from the guide. 🚴 3:00 PM – Arrival at Arabuko Sokoke Gate Forest entry and coordination with park guides, park fees inclusive. Final check of bikes and helmets. Begin the guided forest ride on shaded trails. 🌿 3:00 – 5:15 PM – Guided Forest Cycling Explore quiet, mostly flat trails through the forest canopy. Learn from your guide about: Rare birds, including endemic species of the Arabuko Sokoke Indigenous plants and their traditional uses Conservation and the forest’s global ecological importance Short stops for photography, birdwatching, and spotting smaller wildlife. Moderate pace, suitable for most riders, with occasional rest stops. picnic in the forest with light snacks and drinks 🐘 5:30 PM – Sunset Elephant Viewing Arrive at a safe, fenced area of the Elephant waterhole Watch elephants drink water and move against the backdrop of the setting sun. Guides provide insights about elephant behavior and conservation. Photo opportunity for unforgettable wildlife memories. 🚐 6:00 PM – Return to Watamu Load bikes and depart the forest gate.
